A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his first championship for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.

Now working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought three-set victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This marks the player's maiden championship following the Rome competition and initial on a hard court from that period of 2023.

The win also signifies the Russian has secured twenty-one victories at 21 various events.

"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my children simultaneously, so to win a title is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had lost his past six title deciders, comprising in Halle previously this season.

His counter-punching approach and regular outbursts on court had prompted some to wonder if his skill to play at the elite level was over.

However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and play assertively, backed up by an enhanced serve.

The champion came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult opponent, securing four of the last five exchanges to take the lead.

The pair swapped breaks in the following set before Moutet, striving for his maiden tour championship, gained dominance to push for a decider.

The opponent rescued 4 initial chances in a close final set before the champion broke to that score to secure the win.

Appropriately, he clinched the win with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent incapable to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
